OUCH!!! 120 stitches and a broken heart

This is what your chin looks like after a moron hits you from behind in the air on the down side of a step-up lastnight. It sent me oven the bars and the quad landed on my head. I guess the impact of the quad jerked my helmet and the chin strap cut me clear through to the jaw bone and it hurt! It took about 50 stitches on the outside and 70 stitches in a series of layers inside the flesh to get it back together. It was gaped open about 1 3/4 inches wide. The cut was in a Y formation. Well i'm recovering. The broken heart comes now when i put the 02 race ready quad and 03 race trailer up for sale. I hate to do it but i am out for the rest of the season it looks like. I think i'll buy a harley and then get started on a crf conversion so i'll be sure to have it ready by next season. Look for my quad and trailer and many parts in the for sale section pretty soon. I dunno i may part it out. I am so lost right now. I live this stuff and now look what i am gonna do.

wow....that's gotta suck. good luck recovering. that almost happened to me:( i pulled a nac-nac and landed while doing it, so i fell off and i hit the ground so hard my helmet flew off even though it was strapped on. so i'm just lucky the whole chin thing didn't happen with me:( :(

thanks everyone. i hope to recover quickly. i pulled holeshot and led two laps and the guy in second ran into me in the air on the down side of a step-up and i endoed. A guy did get everything on tape so i will have to watch it to make sure that is what happened. Man, some guys dont even need a quad. This same guy hit someone in a different moto also.

yeah I hate racing with crazy people like that. Its almost funny though because half the time you can just sit behind em' laughing while they about crash over a plastic trophy to have em' crash and pass them with ease. :D

yeah ryan300exrider, that would get the job done but better have two glasses just in case. No i didnt drive myself home. i was transported via ambulance from the track to a large town about 20 miles away. there is a really good facial sugrion (sp) there that worked on me. I wanted to just ride there with my gf but they thought the cut was clear through and into my mouth so i had to go in the ambulance. The doctor said i was lucky because the cut was about a paper clip width away from the main artery that supplies blood to your face. sorry about some of the spelling i cant think too good now because i'm doped up on pain killers :scary:

If it makes you feel any better i just got out of a cast for 4 weeks from a broken elbow.....15 staples, 1 pin, 1 skrew......Plus no ridin for 2 months.......Cheer up it can always be worse :devil:

So thats why you weren't at QC this past weekend. Where did this happen at? Hope you and i both have a speedy recovery. I had to have surgury friday to fix my broken foot. They had to put a metal plate and some screws in it to get the bone to line up straight. So i'm done for the season to. Have to save up and buy me a new 450 quad next year. Either the new yfz450 or i might wait and see what honda's will be like.

mx_racer_20, i was at a fair track in newton. i should have stayed away and just stuck with quad city and casey. yeah i heard about the foot. hope it heals fast. i think i am going to try to run LTM casey in a couple months. i got the stutches pulled out today. There are still about 70 inside that will disolve. Joe (off road repair) wants me to try and make his race in lawrence county but i dont know yet. well just have to see. I i hope honda makes us a good one! Take care of that foot!

yep thats what i'm takin also. Chino- yeah the good times out-weigh the bad ones, its just watchin my buddy build his 300ex has me itchin to build another quad. i want to do a TM 4stroke bike motor conversion with Houser frame and components. I think it would scream they make like 52-54hp.
