Are wheel spacers worth the investment to get or are they useless? I think they would help the handling on my EX untill I can afford a new axle. Also are the rumors true about them tearing up your bearings and other rear end parts?

if u do big jmps, or jump alot, dont get the spacers theyl snap off, they work good for flat track, cause there is no jumps.

How are the front wheel spacers on the front? Do they hold up well? Im thinking about putting a set on the front of my 300ex till I get enough money for some 400 a-arms and tie rods and some Works front shocks or a new top shock mount and 400 shocks, I ride trails 90% of the time, Once in a while I'll jump but nothing big. Think I should buy some or just wait?

That is what I heard to. some one said that they tear up the bearings in the rear and they do some thing to your A-arms.

How would they mess up your A-arm bearrings? Im thinking about running them for only about 4 months or so, Do they make then in 1inch or 2?

I ran durablue graphlite spacers for about 8 or 9 months. I weigh 200 pounds and had these on while doing nothin but MX,,lots of jumping and pounding and they held up great. If ya ain't got the money get them,,they work great..

Actually I was referring to using front spacers,,I guess I could have been more specific,,,yeah they do make the calipers stick out a little,,but If you hit the calipers with something on the trail then your riding in somse serious stuff,,I wouldn't worry about it anymore than braking a chain on the trail,,here's a pic of them mounted up...

well i was gonna get the spacers but i heard a little trick and decided to try it out. i took the front rims off, put the lug nuts on the hub with the wedged end pointing outwards then put the rims on backwards and took the lugs from my 300ex and tightened them on as normal. a lot wider but i havnt got a chance to really test it out but when i do ill let u no. doesnt look much different than spacers. later

you used the original..300ex lugs to tighten the rim down but what lugs did you use to put behind the rim??....
also man..hasn't happend to me...but i read on this site somewhere that it puts alot of stress on your a-arm's or knuckles somewhere around in there where it doesn't need to be...and with all the jumping i'm doing i didn't want to risk it...
seems like it would put all the weight on the outside of the bolts your lugs go on also..might be wrong but seems like alot of weight right at the tip there....

Rico, Are those off set rims too at all?

01-16-2002, 07:49 AM
YEs they are offset rims,,,+1,,so it makes it look even worse,,if ya mount up stock rims it's not near as bad. Unless your hitting huge jumps,,,like traveling 50 foot or more every other day week in week out,,the spacers will work fine.

well first i used the 400ex lugs( which are identical to the 300ex so they can be swapped) on the hub. i no its not the greatest thing but it will work until i get the spacers( within teh next month or so) it is a lot wider and works great, im gonna give it a real test later tonight.
