View Full Version : How come some long travel dont require a new stem?

Is there a reason why some brands require a new stem and others dont? I always thought that the increase in travel is why you need a different steering stem.

when you go to long travel it changes the sterring geometry and you need to alter the stem to conform to this new geomtry

I would guess it matters when it comes to what length(width) and what offset forward

I thought the Laeger T-Pin was the only one you had to get a Stem with...

yes yz you are right arens is working with honda steering geometry so u dont have to buy a new stem cause honda has got it perfect whereas other maufacures are still working with it:p
