While I would NEVER ride without a helmet (other than a few yards while trailering my quad or putzing to the nearby bathrooms while camping), just because someone else chooses to ride without a helmet doesn't mean it in some way influences me to do the same. I have friends that will ride without helmets and that's their business. The problem IS NOT those folks riding without helmets. The problem is a combination of 1. those folks relatives throwing a fit when their brains are splattered on the ground and then blaming the quad or the legal system, and 2. the legal system actually giving them ground to make a claim on the land owner where they were riding, or letting the medical institution absorb the cost (our tax dollars) when the "victim" doesn't have insurance to cover that accident caused by their stupidity. I say if someone wants to ride without a helmet and take responsibility if *^&% happens, then more power to them. Just don't ask me for 2¢ when they can't pay the bills or try to blame the system.

*I* don't NEED you or anyone else telling me how to protect myself from injury. That's common sense. And if some people don't have it, let them pay for their actions. People need to own up and stop expecting others to cover their ***... that's socialism... this is the free world (or used to be  ). And that's all I got to say about that. :p

its also people like me who moderate this forum... i didnt know there was a dark cloud over mini bikes for not wearing helmets.... most people i know ride without them. i mean come on.... its a mini. if he doesnt want to wear a helmet riding a mini thats fine with me.

there is certain circumstances with the no helmet pictures... if it was a quad doing a similar jump i'd be all over deleting the pic because of what your riding. now with mini bikes its a whole different story. mini bikes and bmx goes hand and hand and the risks are about 90% better getting hurt on a quad then a mini bike. i feel there is nothing wrong without wearing a helmet riding mini bikes or bmx for that matter. thats my opinion and opinion of fellow mini bike riders. we know when to wear helmets, but not on fun little, and i stress little jumps like these.

also if you dont have anything good to post stay out of this forum cause i really dont want to hear it. im not letting this forum turn into crap!

Now I want a little pit bike. How fast would an XR50 run? I have always wanted something little to fart around on.

06-24-2003, 04:06 PM
on the road downhill you can get to 40 in a field 35

Nice pics. Crazycasey - that jump looks like fun. Is that easy to jump? What do you think is better with a stock XR, dirt or ramps for jumping?

Juggalo
06-24-2003, 05:28 PM
casey usually does were a helmet, just for the record. that was actually the first time i saw him without one. but it doesn't even matter, the only things that could go wrong on that jump you wouldn't even need a helmet. if somethin did happen well, theres always that risk, you have just as much a risk and probably more just walkin down the street as you do jumpin that jump.

Not trying to get on anyones bad side,I don't care personally if you don't wear a helmet it is YOUR choice.I'm not turning your forum to crap, just expressing my thoughts on the implied rules.I didn't realize its ok to post pics of riders on little minis(that wouldn't hurt you) without a helmet.I do enjoy seeing the pics of the minis in action so I'm not going to stay out of this thread(forum), unless I get banned for caring.

You guys got everyone wanting a mini. I do too! Off to look for the local classifieds.

Do they handle that abuse well? I am 5'7" and weigh about 110 pounds so I shouldn't have too many problems with it. Other than finding room, lol. Now I can finally work up the balls for doing a superman on one of those. I could do mini freestyle. That would would be kickass!

crazycasey
06-26-2003, 05:41 AM
you should have no problems with it your mini. they have riders double your weight riding these things

micah
06-26-2003, 08:04 AM
I have seen the parts for those things in the rocky mountain atv catalog....not cheap at all.

Why dont people just do the little 2-stoke kx60's instead? I think they would be better suited for the jumping and holding the weight.

Juggalo
06-26-2003, 09:14 AM
cuz that just wouldn't be as cool/funny as a pimptout 50.

that takes all the fun out of it, even the big bore kits dont give u mph for the 50 just more power through all the gear, a lil bit better suspension and your fine, there a ton of fun you wont understand til you ride one
