4 years ago I got an 86 trx250r.It was bonestock when I got it.The original tires where still in pretty good shape. It was bonestock except for reeds.

I started moding it and I raced it a few times. The racing took a toll on it.The bearings where all getting pretty loose. And the counterbalancer bearing went bad.So 2 years ago it went apart.Only to never be put back togother again.

So I have started to put my R back togother. So far I have a new herrmann racing bearing carrier and I got new razr mx's all the way around.I have new front wheel bearings ordered. As well as a linkage rebuilt kit for the rear shock.I put new swingarm arm pivot bearings and got a new OEM honda bolt.So I got it rolling around again.

Now I just have to put the motor back togother.I am planning on an ESR cylinder.Probably a 265.

Here are a couple pics.

The new herrmann racing carrier.I really like it.

I have to rebuild the back brake caliper, get a new sprocket and a new nut that holds the hub on.(Lot's of nuts and bolts got lost during the 2 years)

here is the motor.

It is getting ready to get new centercases, crank, counterbalancer, hinson clutch basket,ESR cylinder and head, rad valve,89 clutch update kit,

I am hoping I wont have a problem with any of the new 4-strokes.If I do I guess I can put a 330 cylinder on it.

I am not sure yet.I am thinking new OEM 86 plastic. With some black 250r graphics that 2r's I believe it is has.

I like the look of having full fenders.

yeah.. 330pv or 310pv.. 265 is too small :p

id say get some fullbore.. they are cheaper than oem which costs upwards of 700 bucks almost. and looks better imo... full fullbore would be about 530.. and its the best lookin stuff out there period.

Yeah it broke november of 2001.I had turned that july.I wasn't making very much money. And I bought cars and trucks. And played with them for a while. Then I tottaled my truck adnd had to borrow some money from my dad.So it took a while to pay him back. Then I had some money saved up to start working on it right when my dad died.I got a ticket and some other crap I had to pay then.

Just a bunch of little things. It sure will be nice to have an R again.

Here is a pic I took today.Boy I wish I had a motor.

I have been thinking about full bore.I am not sure if I will like the full stuff.I wouldn't even mind having race cut if I bought it that way.I just hate cutting up stock R plastic.Even if it is old and worn.

As far as the cylinder if I go big bore it will probably be a 310.I don't want it really crazy fast. Then it starts to be a pita to keep on a mx track.Or ride trails.I guess Powervalve setup would work. That is out of my $6.95 an hour budget though.

Lookin good. Whats wrong with the plastics? Clean them up with some lacquer thinner and you should be set.
