I have an 88 250R with an Ohlins shock on the rear mounted to an 89 length Arens swingarm. The problem is my rear end seems to sit very high. I was wondering if replacing the 88 dogbone with an 86 will lower the height but still allow full travel. Also, is anyone using a durablue strut? If so, does it work well?

Thanks

How much free sag do you have with your shock. And I was wondering about the durablue strut as well.

Free Sag: I believe that I have 3-4 inches of Free Sag. Should I have more than that?

From what I understand, the 86 dogbone will lower it too much.

I have a lowering strut on my 86 250r, and it works great because it is adjustable. I'm not sure what brand it is, it was on the quad when I bought it.

Keep in mind, if you look at the geometry of the linkage, lowering the rear will also make the shock softer. With that in mind, you need to find the middle ground between ride height and the performance you need from the rear shock, but as long as you keep it in the back of your mind, you will be ok.
