I just Purchased a 2001 Ford F250 4X4 extended cab, short bed with a 7.3 Powerstroke, and 6 speed manual transmision. I've already got a 75HP chip on the way, and everything to do a 2" suspension lift (Ford leveler kit for the front and 4" blocks to replace the stock 2" blocks in the rear). I'm thinking about some 33" tires when the stock ones are wore out.
I had been looking for a truck like this for a long time, but the manual trany is hard to find in the extended cab trucks. This truck only has 36,000 miles on it so it's not even broken in yet.

I'm proud of it just as it is, but when I get the chip, and lift it, it will be prety sweet. The lift is going to wait until the stock tires are wore out because it won't look rite lifted with stock tires, and my father got everything to do the lift off of a crashed truck for free at the dealership that he works for. I'm even thinking about some clear corners, and the windows have got to get tinted.

is it the turbo powerstroke, or do they even put that in the 250's cause i seen where the upgraded the turbo, added a chip and some other stuff on one and it was bad ***. it was on "trucks" on TNN. it was cool to see a big deisle smoaking the tires

Yeah it is a turbo. I'm sure that the turbo doesn't put out as much boost as the one you are talking about on TRUCKS, but you can sure tell it is there when it starts to spool up. I think that with the chip that I'm getting the waste gate won't open as soon so it will get more boost from the turbo, but I'm not sure I might have to do something else to it also. The chip was free, but it was for a 2000 instead of a 2001 and this truck wouldn't even start with it installed so I sent it off last Wed. to get it reprogramed for this truck.

nice truck, i want a nice Z71 with maybe alittle lift and some pipes and tires, and of course ducks unlimited decals and dixie outfitters decals on the back, and a honda one if i can find it

I knew that someone out there who doesn't like Fords would say something like that, but thats all good. Several people like it and I'm sure that several don't. I like that truck but I dont like the Escort storys you were telling. I think you are full of horse manure little boy. Escort don't do no 12 second 1/4 mile. Are you even old enuf to drive or not? Show me picure of truck with you in it and I migt start to beleeve you a little bit.

I wasnt trying to flame bro. I was just saying its cool for a ford. Meaning i am no ford fan but i sorta like it. Just didnt want this thread to get to carried away;)

Nice truck. I like the white. My dad has an 02 F-350 V10 crew cab, its a pretty nice rig.

Actualy it wasn't too bad for a 2001 with as few miles are on the it and as good of shape it is in. It only has 1 little ding in the door just under the mirror and only 10 or 12 rock chips so I know that the previous owner couldn't have used it for anything other than pulling a trailer around. Daily driver vehicles just don't stay in this kind of shape very long. My father works at the Ford dealership I purchased it at and his price was $23,400. To get that price I only had to get his name put on the title along with mine. I borowed just over $30,000 against it to pay off a few other loans so I wouldn't have to make so many payments every month.

That's a very nice truck the ford super duites are my faviorite truck because there the only ones that don't look queer and more lol. I hate the new dodges and chev's but that's just me. Hope you enjoy it :D

That's a nice looking truck there. I'm looking to buy a new Ford F-250 for my next hauler. I'm probably going to go with the new 6.0 Turbo Diesel with the Torque Shift Trany. Very nice truck for the money. Have fun with it.

Aww check out my "rig". 1993 Mitsubishi Mighty Max, 4cyl, 2WD. Yea, pretty sweet. NO AC or heater... umm, dent in the back cause one of my friends hit me. The whole left front fender is trash after one of my little "endeavours". I had a bunch of friends in back, was out doing donuts in the mud... slid out fo control and hit a freakin tractor!

The 6.0 is a great engine, but I wouldn't buy a truck with one in it just yet because they are having a lot of trouble with the computer programing.. There are a lot of them out there that aren't having trouble, but if you get unlucky enough to get one that has problems you will have a LOT of trouble with it. Wait 2 or 3 years and they should get all of the bugs worked out of them.

ditto... from what I've seen all over here, the 6.0 P-stroke has been nothing but job security for the service dept. :eek:

I have heard the samething. I'm looking to get a 2004, so hopefully by then they will have alot of the quirks worked out by then. That's of course 6 months away if not sooner. Maybe I will get lucky with getting one that doesn't have the problems.

my dad had a chevy 1500 a while back and traded it in for a jeep, i loved that truck, and when he went to get another truck i told em to get another chevy, instead he got the 2003 F-150 4x4, and i like it a lot:D
i personally really like the looks of the newer fords F-250 and 350, not so much the 150. But its a good truck.
When i get my car, i want a dodge dakoda ( spelling? ) quad door with 4x4..... :p

You should be able to get lucky. They are only having trouble with about 1/4 of them rite now and by then I would say that most problems will be worked out of them. If it were me I would still wait until the 05 model though just to be on the safe side. But I am usualy a lot more cautious about what vehicles that I purchse than most people.

Wait for the power upgrades to the Duramax in about a year... IMO they are the best HD trucks out....hands down.
