A guy was at the local shop and he said that the FMF Powercore 4 was the best slip-on for a 400ex and showed the most power. Is this true? If not what is the best slip-on for around 250 or less and what kind of power gains would u get from one. I have a k&n air filter w/ outer wear and other than that the motor is stock.

i havent really tested different ones but i can vouch for the yoshimira slip-on. i felt a good difference from it and stock. i slapped it on and went from hangin with my dads z400 to eatin him up in a straight line! no jets or anything. nice pipe imo.

i Know that my white brothers e series slip on gave me a good boost in power for a slip on. it also has the tunble discs you can choose to run in it or not, all for only 219.99 through gopartsdirect.com

I hear FMF'S suck, cause the packing in them is gone in like a month I personally love my HMF and the'll powdercoat them any color you want just about for like $15 no to bad. I think I paid like $160 to my front door.

PS. Just a little bit tricky to jet but once its right youll like it.

ct racing, hmf, pro circut...all 3 of those r great slip ons...i personally would save up for a full pipe unless u like ur bike to have more torque...i personally would go with the HMF pipe if i had to buy a slip on...its cheap...looks cool...gives u power...thats good enough for me

I hear White brothers makes good pipes. I plan on getting a E-series complete system for the 300 and the 400 pretty soon. Does anyone know the DB level for either of these pipes on the 300 or the 400 with or without the quiet core?

Also, AtvMxRider, what does that end cap do?

according to the pipe test, on a 400ex its 95db without the quiet core

as far as sound gos the HMF is loud as balls but it sounds great. and They gave e a pretty good deal factory direct. Do a search on yahoo for HMF find there sight and call them up if your interested there customerservice is great. I think it only took 4 or 5 days to ship also.

Those hmf's are cool looking! Doesn't Lazarus Sommers / gt thunder, make a colored pipe like that, or is it just for crf.

According to Dirt Wheels, the CT Racing pipe won the shootout cause of gains were better at 4000RPM, only the E series was quieter.

I also heard of problems w/ WB pipes having problems with the top mounting tabs breaking. Is this true?

See my sig. I bought the CT, but have yet to put it on.

I have the fmf powercore IV and I don't really like it. It came with the bike when I bought it used, so I couldn't tell you how much power it gave me. Its loud though. All my buddies can hear me coming from 2 miles or so:D Maybe thats the reason I get pulled over so much.......:ermm: I ordered my wb e-series friday, should be here in a day or two.

I heard one before and they are about the same loudness as a T-4, and they do sound very deep. Yes they sell full systems.:)

I have the complete system, pipe and head pipe. It was measured at 98 db at the local OHV park. Here in California the limit is 96. I don't ride there much anymore. I'm not an expert, but I do love the power gains I got from it. They were accross the boards. I have had it for almsot 2 years and have not had a problem with it.

HMF is the best for the $$
T-4 would have to be second.

The endcap does nothing. It is just for looks. I like it cause it's different then most e-series pipes you see.:)
