HEY THIS MAY BE A DUMB ? BUT I JUST GOT A 250R MOTOR AND I WANT TO FIRE IT UP TO SEE IF IT WORKS BUT I DONT HAVE A PIPE. CAN I USE A STRAIGHT PIPE COMING OUT OF THE CYLINDER ABOUT TWO FEET JUST TO SEE IF IT RUNS? OR DOES ANYONE NO A WAY WITH OUT A PIPE. THANKS

You can start it without any pipe, it will have no power, and be crazy loud.

DO YOU THINK IT WILL BREAK SOMETHING OR IS THERE AWAY WITH OUT A REAL PIPE JUST TO SEE IF IT STARTS. IT DOES HAVE HIGH COMPRESSION.

i wouldn't do it, it won't have any backpressure and it will probably run like ****, just wait till ya get one

See if it runs, dont ride it around. Just don't do it in a closed garage, or your going to hate it.

your jetting will be wrong too making it run even worse

itll be fine as long as you just start it for a short period of time. i do it after rebuilds just to make sure it runs before i totally put whatever im workin on back together.

It would probably be ok for a very short period, but the reason you don't want to run it that way is the outside temp will cool the back side of the valves and cause them to warp.
