I like k&n.
I have the UNI in my 400 and I did notice power gains but after having a k&n in my 300ex it spoiled me because its much harder to clean a foam filter than a k&n...

are there any covers for the UNI, for example the K&N has outerwears.

You can put an outerwears cover on the UNI.
It will work fine.

K&N for me. It's a pain to clean but worth the extra effort.

I have ran both on my 400. With a K&N you do get a little bit quicker throttle response. It does let more air pass through. The problem I had with a K&N is when I hit water the quad would spit and sputter a lot. I would let water through. With the UNI I have not had that problem once! I think the UNI keeps dirt out better too. On dry days run a K&N on wet days or XC racing run a UNI.
