I have a stock 86 cylinder. I want a good Mx port job. I have an FMF pipe right now that im gettin on a trade but I might get an ESR down the road. I have a stock carb right now. What is a good carb/porting combo for MX? Thanks, Anthony

Since you're getting an ESR pipe, why not compliment it with ESR port work? I personally believe the best carb for MX is the 38mm A/S.

How long is the turn around and how much is the porting?

if you want a carb with great low-mid for mx.. its deffinitely the Mikuni 38mm TMX carb.. makes Awesome power down low and the throttle response is PERFECT.

call esr if you're going to get this carb..

i would talk to sandtrix on this site..... i have heard nothing but good reviews about it, I am getting mine done by him here in few weeks.... he only charges $150 for an MX port job, and i would go with a 38 TMX or a 38 or 39 PWK

Carl - This is useless man. "attaking" my posts is doing nothing but showing everyone else on the board how out of hand this has gotten. You can call me names all you want, but what does that really get solved? I'll be getting in contact with your father in a few days. I've got some work to do. Until then, please, save yourself some integrity and quit acting so childish.

Isn't on the ExRiders.com rule list?

1. If you don't like someone, make believe you do or don't respond. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.

I'd like for this to be taken care of ASAP.

Back to the topic..

SandTrix does build some fast motors, and he does a lot of work with ESR, so I would guess that he can port a cylinder to work well with the ESR pipe of your choice. I suggest setting your cylinder up for a TRX-6 pipe(more low-end), but the right port job will make better use of a TRX-5(all-around power). I used to talk with Jeremy(SandTrix) quite often when I was into R's, and he seems to be a very nice guy.

MP racing in salem,OR has got to be one of the best 250r engine builders in the country. My 250R that is actually still a 250 walks ct and lrd 310s and 330s all day long. I would suggest mp to anyone with a 250r. carb wise I wouldnt go any bigger than a 38mm, after that it would be too much low end loss. Pipe wise, you would have to ask your engine builder. For mx I would suggest, Sparks mx pipe, fmf fatty, pro circuit, and the esr trx5 (trx6 dont have enough up on top for mx). I would also bump the compression up and run race fuel in your bike. IF $$ and time is no object i would try and contact curtis sparks, they build some really really strong motors. MP racings phone number is 503-639-7000.
