I am putting on my 14T front sproket. I am having a problem getting teh case saver to fit. I can`t even get the damn sproket on with the case saver in place or even try to coax them both on at the same time. Do i have to grind the case saver to make it fit? I got a JT front sproket at my honda dealer so i hope they gave me the right kind. PLEASE HLP MY EX IS APART!

YOu should be able to take off the case saver first.. remove the sprocket,,,put the new sprocket on,,get it mounted and bolted up and then add the case saver after its installed. If you can't do this then you got yourself a problem,,,it should be an easy swap. Go out to the reviews section and look at the renthal 14 tooth sprocket install section..

Thats what i was thinking rico, but even with teh stock 13T i couldn`t just pull teh case saver out it was too tight. And i can see where the chain was rubbing on the saver at the bottom. I guess i could grind it... thanx rico any more info is appreciated.

I think 400ex21 is right. If you are going up in teeth then the case saver won't fit. Its that way on the 400's anyway. Not sure on a 300 but imagine it is the same way.

Are you trying to be fastrider?? j/k

01-10-2002, 01:37 PM
nahh no fastness here. LOL i rode with a 12T in my local track because of how small it was. But now i ride MX and some hare scrambles and the 12 is useless to say the least.

Welp after friggin hacking the stock case saver apart i decided to abandon the whole case saver idea. I will make a new one out of some sheet steel i have laying around.

Thanx to all the responded!!!!!

what do you mean by the case saver?

It is a gold piece of metal that mounts to the 2 holes your plastic sporket cover bolts through. It protects the engine incase you throw a chain.
