hey man u can use 1/8 steel. You should gusset it in the back where the bottom of the subframe attaches. up where the handle bars go. You can do above the shock mounts with metal tubing if you wish. and im missing one spot..lemme see if i could find pics of mine after i gusseted it.

lil400exman... are you talking about the little triangle shaped thing near towards the very front where it narrows down and comes together??
cause if you are that is just part of the frame...

Question

I am under the impression that the designers of this frame built in a certain amount of 'flex' on purpose

From what I have learned from race cars is if I don't eliminate the chassis flex I will be ripping, tearing, & breaking stuff ...so we Add supports and Cages and stiffners

Once the chassis flex IS eliminated the Suspension will be doing what it is Suppost to do 100% of the time now instead of the chassis bending with everything else

That being said....

Will the Quad Frame follow the same principle ?

How much Frame 'flex' remains now that it has been gusseted and will it just break in another place now?

Sorry for the length,
Jon

well many people just gusset the frame where the weaknesses are known. These gussets are put there because of people having expericence cracking their frames there.
I dont know if a race car and a quad follow the same principle
