whats the best rear shock setup and most affordable. would i be better getting an aftermarket or gettin it revalved??

can i use a rear shock off a 400?

i think its the 01 raptor rear shock that will fit the 300ex

Yes, if you are under 200lbs you will want to get a stock 400ex spring. If you are over, the stock Yam spring will be good.
