LRD has had a recall on alot of their aluminum frames. Heard several of them breaking...:ermm:

I've heard the same thing. The probably just have a week spot somewhere?

Anyways, if you have the money, I would go with a titanium frame! I know LSR and 1 or 2 other companies make them. They weight around 20 pounds, and there strong as all hell :macho !

the Ti frames crack because its so rigid it can't flex. MX and XC puts too much twisting stress and the frame can't take it. the Ti frames are for tt and drag racing only.

i know a few guys that run the lard aluminum frame. Only on the first batch made was there a problem and it was in the threads. They replaced the insides with helicoils i think they said. Now they are as tough as nails. no problems with them! ti frames stink imo also if they break you cant re-weld them................:p

LRd claims a 20% weight savings so on a 60lb frame you should save 12 pounds. Unfortunately alot of us could save that by missing a few meals and keep our $2400.
