3/400EX years?

Ok..tommy talked me into a ex. I think im settleing for the 400 or a 300ex..depends on money

I was wondering whats thedifferences if any between the 1999 and the 2001 models

300exs are all the same other than graphics and so is the 400exs other than in 2000 they put covers over the batteries i think:confused:

ummm the color of the plastic...

in 01 they put a lil differnt shape on the rear fender of the 400ex...

in 01 they put a guard on the battery that everyone takes off...

in 01 theres a Y in the hoses on the carb... and on my 00 there ins't one...

besides that and bold new graphics nothing at all...

In 04 they put a 38mm carb on it.:ermm:

until 01 the color scheme was red and a red seat

99 has a seat that says "fourtrax"

99 is white graphics

00 also has a seat that says "fourtrax"

00 is a wing for graphics

01 has yellow plastic with a black seat as an option

01 is "sportrax" on the seat

02 was the 1st year they made yellow for plastic

02 says "honda" on the seat

02 has more of a confined wing for graphics

03 is the same as 02

04 has a 38mm carb

04 also "honda" as the text on the

they actually changed a lot of things so the newer the better. Im pretty sure the front calipers or the mounting brackets are a little different after 99' because i think they had a problem with them coming off and locking up the tire. Also the steering stems have been changed, the rubber over the battery, graphics, colors, and some other things.

In 01 they put allen bolts in stead of phillup screw for the bottom of the black plastic.

Im not gonna btoher on shiipping..too much hassle...

Im going to look at a 00 400ex locally this weekend..hopefully..for 2500 and one for 2700

they had yellow plastics in 01... Just to correct that :D mine is yellow stock and an 01 :D
