Hey, I was just thinking, do they make carbon fiber sheets with adhesive on the back? Sort of like the white vinyl sheets you can buy to make number backgrounds out of. Except I was thinking I could buy the carbon fiber sheets and use a hairdryer and stick and mold it to my tank cover? What do you guys think? Have you guys seen these sheets anywhere?

Go on Ebay and do a search for carbon fiber there is a company that sells a 15" x 25" sheet for like nine bucks.

Give The Quadshop a call. The sheets they have are made by CEET and are just as thick as the graphic kits you buy.

I used the carbon fiber vinyl from Dennis Kirk. Still look great after a year of use and abuse. If you take your time with the installation it should hold up well.

wow 2000ex, that looks good on the side panel for just the sheeting. How long did it take you to get it to form into all the holes? Do you think I would be able to get it to form to the contours around the gas cap? Or is it not that pliable?

I wonder if one could adhere a carbon fiber sheet straight to the gas tank? I.e. don't put on the gas tank cover at all. I know on dirtbikes there is a problem with getting the graphics kits to stick on the plastic gas tank...

i think if you cleaned the tank very good and maybe hit it with some 600 grit it should stick:confused:

the problem with puttin stickers and such on the gas tank is the fumes. alot of dirtbike graphics have vent holes in the vinyl....

One of the guys I ride with used the stuff off of ebay to do his tank cover on his Craptor and I was amazed at how well in looked and it felt very durable - I think I will eventually do my side panels and tank cover with it in black...

if you stick it on the tank or whatever just cut alot of slits by runnin a razor blade across the sheets in lil cuts. this allows the fumes to escape which keeps the sticker from bubbling and doesnt let the under color show through
