I believe it goes down to a 42 on a 400 ex. Not sure on the 300 ex. Racer x it makes it start eaiser

wouldnt i be getting too much air for the amount of fuel if i went down to a 42?

if yours runs good with the 45 in now, leave that in. my bike was way rich with a 45 in when i had a factory gutted pipe, no airbox lid, and removed choke. with those mods, actually, a 42 was making the plug a little black.

my dad is a mechanic and he said that u dont change the pilot jet and u are needing to change the main jet because u r gettin more air when u r at full throttle but while on the pilot jet u get less air so removing the choke doesnt affect the pilot as much as it does the main jet...and i noticed this on my bike...it seems to sputter up high like its getting too much air and not enough gas but down low it is way better

tell us what main your using right now. with just an x-6, sparks told me to run a 160 keihin. with an x-6 and no lid he said around 165. you have to remember, these are just guesses. i would stick to the 45 pilot. what color is the plug?

my jets r direct from sparks...i dunno what color the plug is..i ran what sparks recommended and it ran flawlessly until i removed my choke
