I just got a 95 KX 125 to screw around on. I figure i can race this bike seeing as quad racing is extremely expencive and non existant in Oregon.

I can deal with 2 wheels just fine. I even have my motorcycle endorsement. Its the wrist throttle that kills me. I just lost control a couple hours ago and hit 3 trees. This was because i get on the gas while trying to hit the front brakes.

Is it possible to put maybe a 350x, or 400ex throttle on a small dirtbike?

Im sure i would get used to it after a couple years, but its the only thing holding me back from being a lot better then I am. Why wait two years and hit tons more trees while waiting for my reflexes to pick up on the fact that im punching the gas when i would much rather be stopping. :ermm:

dont know if there is or not, but just get used to it, i have never seen a dirtbike with a thumb throttle, and i imagine there is a reason for it.

I know, I have never heard of anyone doing it either. Not many people were born riding 3 wheelers and moving to 4 wheelers.

Ive looked around for kits, cant find em. I think i could jimmy rig something though. :huh

I would just try to get used to it. I have heard of people putting thumb throttles on bikes though:ermm:

I have the same problems, I used to ride bikes and I love the twist throttle, but ever since I started riding quads, I can't handle the twisty any more :(

i now it can be done.. a guy that was friends with our other riding buddies was at a ride and he had a thumb throttle on his kx125.. i dont know what kind it was but im sure i could find someone who has his number and find out.. he might not even remember what kind it is tho...

he has it on because he started riding 3 wheelers when they first came out and he just prefers it. he doesnt seem to have any problems riding with it, he nails some pretty good air on it as well..

I'm going to put a thumb throttle on a bike if I get one - I've never used a twist throttle before. Think i would kill myself.....let us know how it works if you do it!

Personally i would not reccomend it one bit, i have nothing in me to say go for it. You will crash. It is alot harder to use on a track becuz you are on 2 wheels. I would definetely stick with twist throttle. Just my .02cents i think it leads to accidents. i love twist

I will get on and ride all this week. If I still find myself totally out of control and dodging trees while unintentionally on the gas then im going to try to change it. I have had 3 wheelers since i was born. We might have a 200x throttle I could use.

If i do it I will post pics and tell everyone how it works.

you could use a 250r throttle, and the cable from motion pro used on aftermarket carbs...nacs has em
