i Will have my 400ex payed off very soon and i am planning on powdercoating it to a very diff color scheme and totatly customizing it "pappy style" the thing is the 400ex's are getting pushed to the bottom of the food-chain and keep droping in value.

Recently when i look on ebay i see nice stock 400ex's go for 3500 and ones with mods for about the same. but then the quads that are totaly done for racing go up in value to about 10+.

So i am thinking should i totaly custom my 400ex with my new powdecoating gun, get the rear shock rebuild and a stem. and then sell it as a "SUPER ATV" and get most of my money out and built a 426 or 450 in an aftermaret chassy. or should i just go with a 416 or something and keep the 400ex.

how much do u think i could get out of my 400ex tops right now? and what do u think would be needed to be dont to put her above the others.... here is some pics...

hmmm.... i dunno what to do................................................ .................................................. .................................................. .................................................. ........................................

i think i might just powdercoat the hell out of it. Then maybe go long travel or something. a 426 conversion or maybe a crf in an arens frame....

Here's an idea mabye not the best one but hey. Why not keep everything that you have now like all your after market stuff and then buy a new frame and find a 426 or equlivant motor and put it into the new chassie. The sell off your motor and frame.

yeah maybe, i think im gonna be tearing her down soon to get her makeover for the next rausch ride!

isnt it funny how u ask a question but then u start thinking about it and u know exactly what u wanna do? im gonna pimp her out pappy style. get the longtravel when i can afford it, then go yz426

why are you going to get rid of it? you want more power?

im sure you can find someone with a modded out 250r that would trade even up...

i know how you hate the "banshee 2stroke power"
but a 250r is nothing like that.

you shoulda rode mine at ruasch, just to see how its like...
once you ride one you'll get hooked.

if you dont like the whole 2stroke scene... i just say keep the ex how it is... and just wait it out, see if honda will ever make a new bike

You could prolly get 4000 outta it.

Do you race? I didn't think you did but if you don't then I don't see the point in building a CRF or YZF?

I mean unless you need the power of the YZF or CRF t clear large Gaps or if the racing is that tight by you .

I don't think that is the case....

MOD YOUR EX!!!

ralph your 400ex is already nicely modded for racing...

d34 c class doesnt have many nice bikes running...

last time i went to go watch they have mostly 300ex's, one bone stock 250r, a raptor, and a lot of modded warriors. you will do fine next year. get a pipe... you will feel a ton of power...

anyways... see you at the track nextyear... my R will be completly mx ready... i might race a few races to get the hang of it this year... next year ill be racing every sunday
