Opinions on a good all around cam for trail riding, i was thinking HRC 400, were and how much do they cost, and aren't thE HRC and the XR 400 cam the same....Let me know something people, even if it's a totally different cam:blah:

I think the Hot Cams, stage one cam would work too, it provides more midrange.

Since Ive had an XR400 cam in mine, Im highly against anyone putting one in their machine. Ive got an WB All Around Cam in mine now. The WB's cam gives "my" machine a tad bit more breathin room through out the entire RPM band. I felt the XR cam had a weak mid to topend power.

Of course, there are sooo many all around cams out there to choose from. Im sure someone will give there opinion on a few others for ya!

Good luck and let us know what you decide!:D

NO! the xr400 and the power up cam are not the same...the words "hop up" are used indesciriminately and confuse the customer.

That is correct. The HRC (Honda Racing Corp.) cam and the xr 400 cam ARE DIFFERENT The HRC cam is sold as a "Hop Up" cam for the xr 400 motorcycle. Running the xr 400 cam in a TRX 400 will give more power but the HRC cam will give even more. I have one it gives very nice gains.

Honda Part # is 14000-NKK-000
Cost is around 280.00

For trail riding, I say the stock cam is pretty good...:ermm:

The hotcam stage 2 is awesome, but you have to know how to ride the trails with it, so if you are intermediate I would go stage 1 hotcam, or go with a webcam or something.
