I just rebuilt my sons LT 80... New rings and piston. I took the whole bike apart to clean it also. This machine hasn't run in 3 years, so I completely cleaned it!
So my Question is ..... do I need to try to crank it on mixed gas or wait til it mixes it itself.... My thoughts are if I don't mix it first, it will crank on raw gas before it mixes.... the gas will get to the carb before the oil will pump to it.. I don't mind fouling a plug but I dang sure don't wanna smoke a piston and rings! what do youse guys think?

Mix the gas for the first tank on a new set of rigns so they get extra lube to seat correctly.

i dont think that it would run long enough on raw gas to kill the piston. the pump would kick in. But yea id run a little extra oil in there too

I would remove the oil pump and pre-mix thats what i did with my sons. Easy to rejet don't have to worry about the pump.:)
