Just bought the Z-250 today. Sweet little quad. Too much of a better all around quad than the 250ex to not buy it. Still love Hondas though. I sure did hate to see the Recon go! The boy is all excited now, just gotta find the time to hit the trails--Soon!! :D

yea the z250 looks like a pretty nice beginner quad. my FIFTEEN YEAR OLD friend has a 229ex (i never call it a 250:rolleyes: ) and i hate the thing:mad: , he put a twist throttle on it....well, lets just say this:

stuck twist throttle in second gear going up a hill into a tree = rolling down a hill and bending the axle and having a sore back.

lol...i only had to pay $65 for it too...stupid kid...

How easy is it to wheelie? Sounds great! Not sure about the looks though, JMO.

I would love to race a Z250 against my wife's real 250EX (249cc after 20cc overbore)

I think Honda really screwed up because of the 229 thing. I wish they would bring it up to a 250 so they won't get their *** kicked by Suzuki in practically everything. It seems Honda has screwed up every effort lately. The Rincon is a joke. It is 600 pounds and has drum brakes. The 400EX has been screwed now for 2 years. The 300EX is pretty good but doesn't fit into a category and is priced high.

Anyway, I still like my 250EX. It is balanced great for wheelies. From what I have heard in a few magazine reviews is that the Z-250 doesn't have weight distribution for easy wheelies like the 250EX. I can get my front end up in 3rd gear even. The light weight of it really makes it a nice little jumper. Big stuff is too much but if your gonna do that you should be on a 400EX or something to that sort. I want a 400EX though. You can get a used one cheap anymore. My bike shop has a 400EX with a kill switch and stuff for only $3495. Still in good condition too.

i agree 100% on the 300ex thing i like but in all reality you can save big bucks and have a quad of equality minus reverse(im refering to the blaster) AND THE rip of a 2 stroke !! handa is SLACKING!!

Took the Z-250 out for the first time today in the Ocala National Forest. My son was easy on it as it was his first time out on it and it's not broken in yet. He is 12 and 5'3" 125lbs and had no problem handling it on the trails. We rode about 2 hrs before being chased home by bad thunderstorms. Tried to ride around them but they closed in on us. The Z250 handles like a dream and is very stable. I rode it some during the week and can say it corners very nicely and easy for me to wheelie in 2nd gear by just gassing and pulling back. It kicks the back end out at will and is not tippy at all. It has real good crisp throttle response and is more powerful than the Ozark from which it is derived. It shifts smoothly {my Ozark didn't} and I love the underseat storage box too. It is very quiet especially next to my Z-400 too. We haven't had a chance to wring it out good being brand new and all but so far it looks and feels real good. As far as whoopin' up on 250exs, don't know for sure but my old Ozark held its own riding with one and the Z-250 is quicker by a good bit than the Ozark. We'll see. :D
I'll post more when we get more time on it!

Yeah it seems that way but Honda will eventually bring out new quads too. Suzuki really has its act together at this time!:)
