I just saw an ad in the paper for a '92 Camaro 25th aniv. edition. RS, It has T-Tops, A V-8 (to eat up all the ricers:devil: ) and the ad says its clean(ill see how true this is) anyway its priced for only 1000 either its a mistake or the person has no idea what they have and how much its worth cuz looking online they all seem to be priced a lot more

Just wondering if any of our car experts know about this car and how it is

thanks in advance

mike

Well it has a 305 in it.Probably a TBI one to.Eating ricer's might be harder than you think.

That was the way it worked in the 80's and early 90's.You had to get a TPI 350.Those where pretty quick. They run out of breath at high RPM though because of the design on the intake.

Don't get me wrong. The third gen camaro is a nice car.And a 350 can be swapped easily. Those 305's might not be the fastest thing. They run 4-ever though.

If you do look at make sure the heater core is not leaking. That is a VERY common problem with the 82-92 camaro's.(also happens on the third gen stang alot)And there a pita to a replace.

Good luck.

TBI.Means throttle body injection.Basicly a modern carberator. It has a computer that controls the amount of fuel and air.

TPI.Means tuned port injection. It has intake runners that are longer. And real fuel injectors.Good setup.Due to the length or the runners as well as some other things it doesn't do very well at high rpm.

It was alot better setup than the TBI though.I am pretty sure neither of these intake setups are used on Any GM vehicles anymore. The camaro's changed to the LT1 in 1993 and then to the LS1.I am thinking in 1999.(don't qoute me on that I think I might be wrong)Either of these will will kick the crap out of the TPI or TBI cars.

BTW.The RPO code for the TBI 305 was L03 and the RPO code for the TPI 350 was L98.They also made a TPI 305.

I second that those TPI cars will run. I owned an 88 Firebird Formula 350 (kinda rare car) with a TPI 350. I only had a few mod's done...computer chip, k&n, shift kit and a borla exhaust. That thing hauled major arse! Mustangs of that era got used to seeing my tail lights...

...I wish I still had that car..
