I bought an E-series Slip on and i was wondering what jetting i should start from. I havent gotten it yet, but i wanna know where tp start. I was thinking a 158MJ and a 40PJ with the stock air/fuel screw location. I am also wondering how do i raise my needle a notch?? im not sure on how to do this?

are you running an airbox lid? if so that may be a bit rich on the main but everything else sounds good. i wouldnt worry about changing the needle until you get the right main jet figured out.

the needle isnt all that hard....i would suggest buying a good manual on the quad and it will show and explain the right way to put it back together...lol getting it apart is easy. you will have to remove the top carb plate....and the side cover....then the throotle cable and needle will come out after you remove the 3(i think 3) phillips head screws down inside the carb.

pull the gold colored plate on top, it has 3 phillips. then remove the bolt holding the arm in place, and then the two at the bottom. slide the arm up, and the needle will be in the bottom. There is a little washer type thing on top of the clip, so don't forget.
remember lowering the clip, raises the needle, more rich.;)

Does it go on top of the clip?

Without a carb in front of me I can't answer that question. The washer goes between the clip, and whatever the clip rests on. I hope this helps!

On every carb I have tinkered with, the washer sits in the slide, and the needle with the clip drops in after that, so I would assume the washer goes between the clip and slide..

it says in the k&n instructions to put washer on top of clip....

i am running 3rd notch on the needle with my e-seris, a 155 mian, 4- 1" hole in the air box. and a 42 pilot, runs well i just hope not to lean... i am about 700 feet above sea level, am i good??? when it is cold it will mis fire, and when you punch the gas it will sound like it is dieing, so i will let it warm up and see how it run on a clean air filter...

you will have to remove the top carb plate....and the side cover....then the throotle cable and needle will come out after you remove the 3(i think 3) phillips head screws down inside the carb. This is the safer way. The screws on this carb strip very easily. So be careful when taking out the screws and do it right the first time, once they are stripped, no going back.
