I'm getting a carillo rod for my 400ex and was wondering what the cheapest I can get it for. So far the lowest Ive been quoted is $250.

Also is their any way I can install the rod without boring the case halves? (this might be a stupid question)

Yes, you can buy the Carrillo direct from them for $175. www.carrilloind.com If theyre sold out; contact crankworks; www.crankworks.com they sold me mine for that price as cariilo was sold out at the time. This is the EXACT rod Sparks racing sells for $239:scary: You will need to get ne rod bearings if your stock cant be reused. The cases will NOT have to be bored (trenched) to accept the new rod.

Just wantd to clarify after reading another post you made--You WILL have to split the cases to install the rod but no machine work will need to be done. 400ex's rods are 1 piece rods (no bolts) and are pressed onto the crank and will have to pressed back off.
