what do you all think about 19" shocks compared to the regular? is there a whole lot of a difference in handling and jumping? If you had to pick what would be your fav. setup? long travel a arms with 19? or +2 with regular? Thanks

I don't think you will find anyone that prefers a 16" over a 19" front end.

The biggest difference is the handling characteristics of the actual long travel a-arm.

John Arens told me at Red Bud that Mark Baldwin told him he could make a 16" setup work as good as any 19" setup. Seems crazy.

What happens if you put long travel shocks on standard travel +2 a-arms? I might be able to buy some TCS long travels for my 400 with +2's. I know I wont get the full potential out of them but will there be any problems concerning mounting and handling?

it'll never work.

are the shocks just too long to fit between the mounts then the ride height is all messed up?

it will never work becuase the shocks is way to long.. and then they would be too stiff as well.... they design lt a arms for a reason....

I think you guys are getting confused on this "long travel" stuff. No offense, but I have a set myself and most manufacturers refer to them as long shock not long travel. All their doing is moving the shock mount on the a-arm out towards the wheel, which by doing so you now need a longer shock to reach this new location. The purpose of doing all of this is to change the way it handles. And I've been told it's not that much more if any extra travel. So I'm going to take a chance and say that the 16" long travels is a lie. Sorry mates. Unless you guys are referring to a 300ex or something.
