What is a good brand to run and how much does it cost, I'm going to put an aftermarket rod in and port the heads, etc...

I have a Curtis Sparks one in my X. It made a world of difference, it feels like a whole other machine.

how much do they charge just for the stroker work, I think I might hold out though, even on the rod, I still think the stock rod will be ok with just a 426 with 13.2:1, as long as I get good jug bolts

They do work to your good crank. It usually costs upwards 400 bucks, I found mine used for 150. LOL

So when they stroke they crank, do they harden it also, and when racing on the sand flats is the stroker really gonna make a big difference. I had a 383 stroker in my truck, it it had mad torque but the top end wasnt the best, low end was crazy.

Instead of stroking I may just go with better head work, alcohol, carillo rod, and I want the tunable ignition for like $250

If your worried about top-end power suffering because of a stroker kit, don't. I went with a mid/top cam and porting and mine make lots of smooth power through the entire powerband.

Thanks guys, well I found otu that I kinda sceweed myself, I already ordered a 13:1 JE piston ans that won't work with the stroker crank.

I might just get stonger rods, timing chain, jug bolts, FCR carb, X-6 exhaust, run my stage 2 hotcam for now and just do a 426 with the 13.2:1 JE with cometic gasket.

If I do a stroker crank I am going to do a big bore and then stroke it, then upgrade my clutch, etc....
