well i've herd that the stock pipe out flows the stock head pipe so i am going to say until you port it you won't need a pipe... but i'm sure it wouldn't hurt down the road... hope i helped toby

Take your stock head-pipe off and grind the weld out of the front. I hear it helps a lot. When the weather Gets nicer (Currently pouring down rain) I am going to grind the weld out and re-jet. After I feel the gain from that, I will take off my air box lid and re-jet.

TC uses the Stock Headpipe on his Big Bore Motors. He told me it produces very good torque. I would just keep the Stock Headpipe and try what Max said. I think you should be fine.

you don't need a new headpipe on your 400 unless you get a big bore or get porting.

I put on the FMF powerbomb header and noticed a big difference. This was before i did the 416 kit and xr cam.

I put the Power Bomb on also. I don't know how much it help because I install a FCR carb at the same time.

I think the difference in the header pipes is not only the diameter of the pipe but the bends in the pipes as they exit the engine,,most all aftermarket header pipes vary in the exit pipes, I think the powerbong is for mid and high,,,,,as for the stock pipe I think it's for bottom to mid. I'm happy with my powerbong,,plan on keepin it ferever...:D Soon to be sent to jet-hot for a custom chrome look that will never turn blue or chip..woo hoo.

Rico, how much is this Custom Chrome Job going to cost? Are you still going to get a Bills Pipe?

Having the header pipe done up is gonna cost like $75 and that's not including shipping,,,and yeah I plan on getting the bills pipe still but I'm thinkin it's gonna be another month or two though..

Rico just curious as to what coating and what color you chose.

It';s the sterling finish..they don't really put chrome on it,,they polish it out to shine like chrome,,,don't really know what they do but it looks good and the warranty sounds great.
