i dunno...i just bring the part inside and sit down and do it. ive done enough that normally i can tape a part pretty quick and it doesnt slow me down too bad. ive got an assortment of razor blades and exacto knives that help trim real close and i try to make a part look like you bought it that way. i like the out come most of the time:p ive learned what i can do and what i cant so that helps when starting a part like that clamp....i reckon it took about 30 minutes to tape it off.....not to mention 30 or 40 minutes to polish it:ermm: in order to get that anodized look i didnt want to use a chrome base but chose to shot the blue topcoat over the polished base. i was gonna clear it.....but we had a thunderstorm brewing and i had to just cure it out. oh well....ill redo it if and when it gets jacked up:D

Pappy how do you like the HMF compared to the LRD?

well, it fits 1000% better....sounds sweet too. i cant honestly tell you till i get it jetted properly and find what gearing this thing wants. my first impression is that it doest make the power the LRD does...but i was breakin this puppy in at rausch creeks 5 inch thick mud:ermm: maybe ill switch the pipes from the other quad and see if it wakes the 425 up or puts it to sleep:p having 2 of the same quad has definate advantages:D

Yeah that would be nice. I was just looking at pipes, because if I get the Yamaha, TC is just to loud so I was thinking HMF or Yoshi.

with clear its not to bad. when doing it over straight aluminum or a polished part it will be a very thin application so its prone to scratch a bit easier and also wont be as resistant to chips from rocks(or me slipping with w screwdriver:ermm: )

a few people have asked why i dont have a brand new sproket....and that is because i dont know what gearing is going to work best with the new engine. doesnt make much sense to buy some shiney part and then have to let it collect dust if it isnt the one to use:ermm: some things are form follow function i reckon;)

The HMF header looks bigger than any other aftermarket pipes I have seen.

Who makes the chain guides (both) and where did you get them ?

Is there two Rezzies in the rear in this pic?

its a standard cr250 chain gaurd...straight from honda...i dont remeber what it cost me. it rubs the skid plate but nothing worth noticing and does its job very well.

that is the only guide on there...unless you are refering to the chain slider..white thing ...front of swing arm:confused:

that slider came with my burgard swing arm. normally when you buy an aftermarket they will come with a particuliar brand. i had one for a LSR swing arm and it wont fit a burgard so i assume different swing arms take different types

Last Question....

Are these Items superior to the stock devices (assuming they are working properly) ?

Are they worth investing in?

And no, I don't have an Aftermarket Swing so I guess the white unit doesn't matter?)

Pappy
06-12-2003, 08:24 AM
id honestly have to look at a stock swing arm to see if the chain guide would work....i cant remeber if the stocker has a mounting place for it or not. they make aftermarket sliders for the stocker...upp i think is one place:ermm:

papster, you sure those shock rezzy mounts are for your 400, how come the hole for the frame is square:confused:

If I can hear my neighbors arguing I know there is a problem... they are over 3000' away and pretty much all trees between... But those parts look pretty nice, I agree with your not getting the sprocket yet.

Do most swingarm skids come with a chain slider? (I would think so, but you never know...) Thanks!

well, the description for the part said round or square:ermm: it comes with rubber inserts ...so i used 2 pieces and slapped it on there...seems to hold real tight...but the big test will be when i hit the ruff stuff:)

i assume most aftermarket swingers come with one....but with some of the parts ive seen on ebay and at shows....id be askin the place thats sellin them;) :D
