taking choke out

what is the pros and cons of doing this.

pro: better flow(like air flow, less to restrict it or block it) con: no choke (harder to start)

Pro- makes it wasy to start in the winter. No more dead batterys. more air flow.

Con- not really one unless you do a chitty job and don't clean the metal flakes out and they make their way through.

Does it really give you that much more air flow? Also, wouldn't be really hard to start with out it, especially in cold weather?:ermm:

actually mine atleast start way easier than it did with the choke even in 10 below temps couple pumps and she fires right up, my brother is always whining why does my bike start so much easier than his. he still has the choke

i get better throttle respons and it make it flow better for more power, and with a 42 pilot jet it starts better than it ever could with the choke.

with a 42 pilot, mine is hard to start in the summer even if i let the bike sit for a couple of days. i have tried playing with the fuel skrew without any success. all i have on my bike is removed choke, gutted factory pipe, and an open air box lid. i run a 152 main, 4th notch on needle, and 42 pilot. also, the 42 makes the bike rich. when you let it idle for a few minutes and then check the plug its black. if i go ride for an hour or so it back to normal color. i don't understand what the deal is the this pilot jet. did anyone notice that when your skrewing in the bigger pilot it goes almost all the way in then you feel more resistance for about the last half of a turn or so??? any help would be great.

Its easy to do and if you get it right its starts easier then when you had a choke. I can leave mine sit for 2 weeks come back, give it 3 blips with the throttle and she starts right up.
