Dropping a gear!

My 400 has been dropping a gear lately. It does it when I go into 5th gear and then drops back to 4th and revs out. I don't know what it could be. Its a 2002 and I just got it in June so I don't think it could be the clutch basket or anything since it only does it in that spot. Does anyone know what's wrong. I have to 4 year warrenty so whatever it is I hope it's covered.

man mine does that to and its a 2002 300ex i know its not a 400 but mine when i shift to 5th it pops to 4th and 5th till i grab the clutch click a gear done then click back up . but it just does it every know and then i thought it was how i was shifting? i guess i am wrong.

when i say goes to 4th bvack to 5th what i meant was taht and jerks and pulls jerks and pulls like i clicked done but i really dont know though?

is this normal for a new quad?

On my 2002 300EX when i come to a sop and it is in 3rd or 2nd it sometimes won't let me downshift all the way into first. i'll have to let out the clutch a little and then it will downshift all the way.

or sometimes in reverse the red lever won't go up all the way, so i'll have to let out the clutch a little and then pull it up

mine does what 300ex man does but mine is an 02. i'm guessing its just because its new.

If you can't shift down while sitting still you may have to rock it back and forth and shift down at the same time until it shifts.

My 99 does the same thing , if i don't give it a hard enough click up into say 3rd it will slip into 2nd and when i come to a stop in 3rd i do sometimes have to let out the clutch a bit to put it into 1st I don't think its a big deal my 300 4x4 does the same things sometimes even though its an auto-clutch.
If it gets worse take ti to the dealer and let them check it over.

Does anyone know what's wrong that has a 400ex? It doesn't have trouble downshifting, it just drops back into 4th when i shift into 5th sometimes and revs real high. And i have to shift back into 5th and it will sometimes even do it again.
