View Full Version : Grease for rear wheel bearings??

Is there a special kind of grease to i need to use for wheel bearings? or will multi purpose work

I think multi purpose is ok. I went to Pep Boys and got Valvoline Synthetic grease. Mobil One is good too. If I remember right, I think a grease with Moly in it is recommended.

bombardier grease is the stuff when I had my chain off my tires and axle spin for like 5 minutes but this stuff if about $7 for an 8oz tube

I like to use silicone grease on our atv. It is real thick and completely waterproof. I like to gom as much of it as I can in the bearing housings whenever it's apart. It gives me peace of mind when it's muddy out. The kind I have is clear and looks like RTV but it is grease.
