on firday i finally got my stuff from Burgard cycle, after waiting 3 weeks... first they didn't have the axle in stock, then he screwed up on my shipping address, and i never got an e-mail back with my tracking number and that over stuff that i was always calling about and he said he would get back to me... put that aiside these rims are awsome, other then they have a LEAK some where  :cuss: and i got no stickers... it sounds like i had bad service, well it was okay, better then some places around here, but these rims are sick, i love em they are so shiney... for 200 bucks shipped what can you lose, other then having flat tires after a day....

Mine have not leaked a single bit. Try and make sure that the bead is seated exactly where is is supposed to be and then when you put the outer part on make sure you start the bolts evenly and then turn each one 1 turn until the ring is seated lightly on the bead and then torque the bolts in 1lb incraments each so that it seats evenly.

grooving is a good idea it makes a big difference i think...
yeah i got a ton of work to do to get ready for the nats also...

i did that, ever 2nd bolt i tightened a bit then so on, then torqued them to 10 foot pounds... what was your final torque?? i made sure it was in the grove and everything... at first the outer ring was sticking way out, but that is what the bolts are for to clamp it down...

i believe like around 800 canadain with shipping and all...

ya i want to do really well at the nationals... i guess i will run jr, that way i have a chance....

400exBro
06-10-2003, 02:15 PM
i am pretty sure it is centered... they tire went into the grove, but i think i am misunderstanding you kenny??

Fleshwound
06-10-2003, 02:18 PM

400exBro
06-10-2003, 02:21 PM
8, i swear it says don't go past 7, on the side wall... i could be wrong but i think i run 5 in them, no wonder they flex so easy in the corners

Fleshwound
06-10-2003, 02:23 PM
oh maybe its 6 then ...haha not sure now...
i havent used a pressure tester in a long time, since my digital one broke...i jus give em a kick

400exBro
06-10-2003, 02:24 PM
ya same, just step on them and make sure there is some air in them... always works

Fleshwound
06-10-2003, 02:27 PM

do you have an rpm axle?? does the chrome chip off easily on it,?? i don't want mine to do that becuase it looks so sweet now in person, when it cleaned

Pappy

bro...its real easy to get the tire lip in the wrong poition...heck ive seen one dude mount his on the outside lip and when he tightened the bolts it damaged his tire:ermm:

id say addd air to the recommended seating pressure and let them sit over night. my ultimates took a few tries to get them to hold air:ermm:

Ralph
06-10-2003, 02:32 PM
mine seem to leak too...

Fleshwound
06-10-2003, 02:34 PM

so put 25 psi in them and let them sit over night?? i will check that, but izzy even said that if it leaks to put silcone around were he welded the outer and inner rings on, there might be a pin hole... but i will try both... i hope i didn't mess my tamers up though..

06-10-2003, 02:35 PM
yeah he told me the silicone trick too.....then mumbled something about $650 worth of rims that leak air..lmfao

400exBro
06-10-2003, 02:38 PM
well 200 dollars are mine.... rrr o well at least it saved me some money and i got a lsr axle... silcone 3 dollar... champs 147 each... do the math... haha

ya i am sure it last through a moto, the chrome, but i jsut don't want big rocks chew it up...

Ralph

heres what they look like after a few rides, u should buy some mudcaps for em

400exBro
06-11-2003, 12:12 AM
i guess i have no other choice but to use the silicone... the tires are seated evenly... toruqed to 10lbs...

pappy does burgard even give out sticker?? i was suprised i didn't get any from him....

Pappy
06-11-2003, 12:17 AM
he normally installs them on a arms...swing arms..stems etc....

why dont you get a big enough tub of water to submerse a whole tire/rim and see where your leaking from. and bro...i snug my bolts down pretty good.....i dunno if 10 ft pounds is right or wrong

phatswinn
06-11-2003, 07:09 AM
you could always run a thin layer of silicone around the ring so it wont leak and it wont be hard to get off either

400exBro
06-11-2003, 09:07 AM
i tried shoppy water but i was hard to tell...i might try the tub idea...
but i will take the tires off and put a bead of silicone around the rings where it was welded...
thanks for the help...
does anyone now what the torque is for these bolts..??? if you talk to him pappy ask him... i have 18x11x8 turf tamers...

Rip_Tear
06-11-2003, 02:52 PM
Sweet bro! You should buy some tire seleant(sp)... It just spreads it self around the tire and rim to hopefully stop any leaks, its worked for me many times :D

400exBro
06-11-2003, 11:54 PM
i found were it was... it is a little pin hole in the weld, so i am going to put a bead of silcone all along the weld....

the tire selant stuff sticks to the bead and you won't get the tire off to easily...
