ok just picked up a case of 10-40 HP4 from my dealer. anybody running this stuff? also this will b my first self-done oil change :) it takes 1.9 qts?

If you run really hard, you should get the 20W50. Mine takes just over 2qts.:confused:

yeah if your worried about honda just up sellin ya somethin to make buck, don't be, your ok...as far as volume, mine is at 3 qts with the pingry. Use about 1.9, idle up for 5 minutes and check...

mine takes just over 2-quarts[to put it up on the upper level] as far as the oil thats what I have been runing for many years & have been very happy with it!!.....

Ran that oil for years as it is a Mobile 1 product. Very good oil!!!:)

But now I run Amsoil 10w-40 full synthetic.:macho Love it!!!:)

Mobil 1 eh,,,I must have been asleep on that one..RiderX, not to beat a dead horse, but what are your feelings about synthetics in regard to the clutch? I am all for sythetic but there's bad press out there about shortened clutch life/particles etc...

As long as there are additives in the synthetic to help the clutches grab, I will run a synthetic. I am super comfortable with any synthetic or blend that has the friction modifiers in it to make it formulated for motorcycle usage.
The HP4 actually cured a shifting/clutch problem that I was having in my 250x, by allowing it to hook up better than the regular petroleum oil that was in it.

well i dont run it extremely hard. i only get to ride once a month or so :( u reccommend that cuz its thicker? or for other reasons? anything wrong with going with the 10-40?

amsoil is sweet! i run their series 2000 0w30 in my truck :) which amsoil do u run? i know theres the 7500 series and the 2000....

Yep, because it is thicker. There is nothing wrong with the 10w40 though.
