my 87 TRX250X is smoking really bad, after running for about 5 minutes their is some oil on the end of the exaust, it is not blowing out really bad but it is comeing out a little and smokeing VERY bad what is wrong with it??:confused:

It needs a rebuild. This might include a bore if it is real bad, but you might be able to get away with putting in new rings. You will also need to get new valve seals. It's wore out.

that was my brother that posted that but i`ll give you a little more info since i have tore it down 3 times trying to figure out what is wrong with it
there is a brand new bore and high compresion piston and rings in it, it jsut started smoking during break in we put new valve seals on the exhaust side valves and the rings are tight in the bore
i`m gonna try putting new seals on the intake side and see what that does for it

did you offset the ring gaps when you reassembled it

yea i offset them the way the paper says that came with the piston and rings, i tried different rings too so i`m guessing it has to be in the valves

take the head to a mechanic and have them re0seat your valves and put al new seals in it
