1st. VALVE ADJUSTMENT...when?

hey i've been runnin' this motor pretty good, i put it on reserve tonite at about 8:00. i'm ganna let it run almost out,
then change the oil, and instal the oil-cooler.
should i go ahead and adjust them then?
can i do this myself, where can i get a "feeler guage"
gimme some specs on propper clearance.

i think i just found the info i need.
valve lash
...intake: .004
...exhaust: .004
valve lift:
...intake: .310
...exhaust .310

this sound right?..should i go ahead and do all this tomarrow, or run it for the rest of the week, and do it on thursday? and have it ready to ride on saturday?
