cam

im getting a xr400 cam and high compression piston. i will do the work myself. what else will i need to buy or do to make this run properly. i have a k&n and a t-4 slip on. it is jetted to a 165 main. should i change the jetting? thank you for your help.

When you change a cam and bump up compression you completely change how your motor acts. Now, i know that on cars when you swap in a cam you have to screw around with the carb(s) and tweak all the little settings to get it to run just right. I don't know much about small motors but i would think that you would need different jets.
