Just got a terrible phone call...prayers appreciated

Well I just got a phone call from my father concerning my uncle. I don't want to get into too much detail but he was having trouble urinating for the last month or so. He finally went to the doctor expecting to have some sort of prostate condition but when they ran tests on him they found out he has severe diabetes. It damaged the nerves in his bladder and as a result he doesn't have the sensation to pee until his bladder begins to overflow into his kidneys. The doctors did an ultrasound and said that his bladder fills with nearly a quart of fluid before he finally goes to the bathroom. The doctors ran tests to see if his kidneys have been damaged as well but we won't get those results back for another 2 weeks. When my uncle asked how bad it is and whether he'd need pills or insulin shots the doctor simply asked him, "Are you a religious man?" And my uncle replied yes (he's the pastor of my church). The doctor then said, "Well start praying." That's as much as we know until the kidney test results come back. They prescribed him no medication.

My father just called me with some better news. My uncle's kidney tests came back today. One kidney has been damaged but is still functional and the other kidney functions 100%. After 5 days of antibiotics the infection has started to subside and where my uncle was originally carrying 1200cc's of urine it's now down 800cc's. They put him on 10 more days of antibiotics so they're hoping they can bring that capacity down even more. They also told him that with pills and proper excerise/diet he should live an otherwise normal life. They did tell him he's lucky he came in though otherwise the infection he had could have had much more serious consequences. I appreciate all the prayers from you folks.

Im sorry to hear that. From what I heard from my little sister, my uncle might be dead. Its either him or his dad but I sure hope it wasnt him cause he was realy cool and healthy and only like late 30's. Hopefully things will work out for him. My prayers will come out to him.
