on my buddies r that he just got, when u go to 3rd gear, it is like neutral. whats up wit that? its like like a false neutral. help asap so he can go ridin

Bad news, im sure that you have a cracked gear/shift fork. If you keep riding, it could hurt it even more. I recomend taking it to the shop and let them disassible the bottom end of the motor, becuase you can get lost quick.

just about summed it all up. Dont ride it anymore or things could get very messy in there. :( Some guy that doesnt like my buddy put a bolt in his crank case and wrecked his 1st and 2nd gears. It only cost him 132 bucks to fix it but he also had to get the bottom of the motor welded back together

I would recomdend either changing all the gear to aftermarket or replace all of them EOm wise. If you don't, there is always going to be a weak part of your setup, and it will happen again.

My R did the same thing. Bent shift fork.

whats a bent shift fork and how do u fix ir and how much will it cost

For a shift fork you would have to split your engine cases. It is a pain in the *** to fix. I don't think they are that expensive though.

Every ounce in a while you'll find shift forks on Ebay for like 25-60$. Keep your eyes open for one, but it's a PITA to fix.

if your lucky the clutch might just be slippin but it would proly do it in every gear

bent shift fork or stripped gear teeth, split the cases and see what comes out

well if it makes your freind feel anybetter 2nd gear in my 70 El Camino = park right now. when it hits second it just locks the rear end up!
