500ex - Liquid Cooled

Does anybody know where I can find info on a 500cc liquid cooled kit for a 400ex:D? Does anybody have this? I remember reading about it about 4 or 5 months ago in dirt wheels, I think it was about $2000. If anyone could provide some info, it would be much appreciated...

hardened rocker arms

valve springs with titanium retainers
big valve porting
500cc stroker crank
heavy duty rod, piston, and sleeve combination

cylinder machining
case boring and labor
=2800

if you want the water cooling pachage it includes
radiator
all of the cylinder mods
plumbing
water pump
= another 1500

Hey, Just Race, didn't it also have a review of the kit in that issue? If so, how did it do?

Well they basically said that it was one of the most powerful things they have ever tested. You don't have to shift as much so there is less fatigue in long races. And of course that it pulled from bottom to red line in every gear. Hear is picture of the motor that I took out of the magazine.

Also, did it say how much it would cost without labor? Actually, is there a place where I can buy old issues of ATV Sport, or could I buy it from somebody?:confused:

There is no sence in buying the ATV action one because I told you everything that was in it. It was only a 2 page article. I will go through my dirtwheels later tonight to see if I can find some more info. But i won't sell the atv action to you because it would be a waste of your money.

actually, i have talked to mickey dunlap about this liquid cooling kit he offers. he says he only did that for the magazine (and yes i have the issue so ihave read the article) and he doesn't plan on doing anymore. he says it was just way too much work and it took too much time from completing other jobs that needed to be done.

Well, my dad claims he can make me one. He said we just need to find a water pump and radiator, and he can do it. I'm not sure if it will work, but I'll sure as heck give er' a try... that is if we even do it (fingers crossed).
