I'm wanting to use a different piston in my atv's. i have been using wiesco but i want to go to something different. it seems like i can't make it through the summer without having piston problems(slapping). any help would be appreciated.

There are many aftermarket piston brands available.

What kind of quad do you have/what type of performance are you looking for?

right now i drag race a atc 250r and sometimes trailride. mainly any type of riding except mudriding. i want a piston to handle any type of performance i put it through.

Cast pistons are a little better in the two strokes than forged pistons like Wiseco

I agree, I like the cast pistons a lot better for my CR. Too many problems with forged. I suspect it's because forged pistons take so much longer to heat up.

Does anybody have any suggestions on what brand of cast piston to use?

Nics Pro X, OEM (yes, OEM).

WHY?????????

Because they heat up closer to the same rate as the cylinder, so there's less chance of cold seizure and piston slap. I think the cast is a little more forgiving, too, because the metal is less dense. Just my opinion.

Would there be any issues with higher compression pistons? (cast vs. forged)
