hotcam without hi comp?

i have saved some spare cash and i am going to get a hotcam, i think thay have got the flange issue sorted out by having it cast.
anyway, i have the money for cam, but no piston at the moment, so do i get stage one or two? i am hoping for the piston to be a winter project. so if im going to say 10.8:1 this winter should i get stage 2, or will i loose enough bottom in the mean time to want the stage one?

as soon as i decide i will order one from c&d, so i can get her done by the 4th of July

If you do get the Stage 2 let us know how it works without the piston. I don't believe that I have heard of anyone doing this.

as soon as i get my head back i will let you know how it runs with a 11:1 piston. just do the piston now while you got it half apart. its onle another $100 to do the piston. sell something you got laying around if you need to. the piston will help you a great deal.

I just did mine with a 11:1 and hotcam stage 2, It has less bottom than stock! but really rips on top end, feels like it has a powerband like a 2 stroke, good set up for MX or drags. but not in the woods.

I have a stock bore 11:1 Wiseco for cheap if you want to go that route. It's new in the box, with rings, pin, and clips.

And I have a 416 (87mm) 11:1 Wieseco "Brand New" Piston i would sell...and if thats not enough bang for ya got a Curtis Sparks (87mm) 12:5 to 1 JE.."Brand New" ..Take your pick...

Dude it's an omen....3 different riders have pistons for you..buy one!
