jetting problem from previous owner......

I looked at my main jet and the previous owner forced a mikuni 160 main jet into my keihin carb...........now i have to go to the honda shop and geta 18 dollar part that the main jet screws into to fix the problem, then find the right jet. I was wondering what you think i should run for a main with a white bros e series slip on, shaved fenders,and a uni filter? will this mikuni jet in there affect my quads performance because i was beat by a stock 400ex with only shaved fenders:huh

145 is stock. I'd start with a 155, then work down. I bet you'll settle somewhere between 150 and 152.

isnt 148 stock?

148 is stock for most places....142 for upper elevations.
152 should be good......but with the shaved fenders i'm not sure...
