cam and piston?

I am thinking about putting a cam and high compression piston std bore in my 400. i can get it done for around 500. will i feel a big increase in power. i am thinking of a hotcam stage 2 and a weisco 11:1 piston., but with all the bad talk about hotcams, would web be better.
