The stock shocks will fit, but they will be REALLY soft!

The shocks dont have as much leverage as they used to. You put more pressure on the shocks because its width.

Take a bat and hold it about half way. Have someone else push done on it and u try to not let them bringit down. Then hold it at the end and have the person do the same thing. It shows how it works.

it works out best if you buy the shocks now then get the a-arms later

He's right...beg borrow or steal....get the whole enchilada! That is unless your the type that can live with tradeoffs. I should have just ordered the right shocks for my arms the day I bought them...then focus on the next step.

They will be soft, which means they will soak up small bumps great. I had a set of extended a-arms and stock shocks for quite some time on my 250r. They were actually really nice to ride on, but sucked @#$% for jumping.

I'm actually thinking about this same setup for my girlfriend, because she doesn't jump at all, so she'll just have a nice wide quad with very plush suspension, which is perfect for her. I think you'll be ok, as long as you don't get more than 1ft of air.

Get shocks first. I run shocks valved for +2 and I do just fine. They have comp adjust and I just got them as soft as they will go. If you gonna get a-arms for a 400ex which I think thats what you have. Don't go +1 forward.
