What quad to build?

I am thinking of starting a project quad. Not going to be in a big hurrry, just something to do. If Honda doesn't come out with something new in a year, or what they do come out with is a turd then I will probably step it up a notch with the project. Just want your opinions on what to build.

Ditch the stock frame idea. If you're going to spend your time and money to make something fast, at least put it in a strong chassis. My vote is the CR450f engine, (or a KTM if you're ambitious) but at least put it in a chassis that can handle the power!

Not looking to spend a whole lot of money on the frame in the beginning. I don't do much jumping or anything like that. Mainly trail riding and drag racing in the sand dunes. Just want a project quad. I am kinda undecided between the 250r and the crf 450. I have never owned a two stroke.

the cr500 or cr250 won't work. They don't have a counter balancer therefore will vibrate too much.

Kinda leaning towards a 250r motor in a 400ex frame. The 250r motor is cheaper than a crf450.

Well, I voted for the crf450 just cause you can't go wrong with that. But, one of the local badazzes at the track has been tearing it up with a 250r frame running a yz426. It is all like hunter orange too! Kinda strange, but that somena gun flies! :devil:
