I know many of the internal components of the 250r motors are different, (short rod vs long rod) but what about external differences? I have an 86 250r, can I put any year motor into it without modifications?

Can I bolt an 88 motor into an 86 frame without any modifications?

What about the headstay? Is it significant?

They are basically the same beast, externally that is, shouldn't be a problem
