best kit for the infamous 400

well, I am getting a 400 soon, I talked to my local shop, and to this guy I have known for a while, he has delt with bikes and quads for longer than I have lived, he knows a guy that makes the meanest 416 kit, dishing out incredible power, and so much better than all the other companies
he makes a mean cam, and the job he does is incredible, this guy coming out of Boyeseen sp? says the 440 is very iffy, very close to the cylinder edge, the 426 is nice but for incredible power and reliablility the 416 is the way to go

if its a thorough job i say go for it, a 416 can sometimes be faster than a 440 depending on where you get it. also the smaller piston might be more reliable, but youd have to check with someone else on that one. but i say go for it:D

yup 416 is the way to go and its a lot cheaper. I'd check prices of other shops though and from what I understand about the 4 strokes and xr400 motor it doesn't really matter who your builder is besides porting and valves and other than that its just getting the parts you want. (piston brand, compression, cam shaft, ect)
