What next?

hey. what should be the next thing i get for my quad. i have exhaust, airfilter, jets, rear beadlocks, rear razr mx's, renthal bars, dg swingarm skid, dg nerfs, cut fenders, and i have front razr mx's and a pro design kill switch on the way. i was thinking of just gettin a bumper and maybe some wheelspacers or something but if you have any suggestions please reply

i think shocks might be one of the next things i get. i have a cr80 rear shock on to see if that will work. it is probably goin to bottom out all the time. i dont think i am gettin a wider axle seeing my dad just bought me another stock one because he broke the first one. and i cant post a pic beacue ever time i try they get messed up. i can email you a pic and then if you want you can post it but if i try i will mess it up

sell the stock axle and buy an aftermarket one... a wider axle will make a world of a difference... A arms also will.... Id rather have handling and suspension before power mods... I was on a stock 250x in a Womens Open class, all it had was 400ex a arms on it but it made it wider and it handled really well for me...... and I was able to turn in much faster lap times after i got them. I sold it before I had really spent much money on makin it handle better tho, its now gettin a 14 yr old kid into racing... im takin him and his friend to the tracks and im gonna get them to start racin and I'll get to take my lil 250x for a spin around the track and remember the good ole times with my first race quad :)

Look down in my sig. The wife's 250EX has a Powroll big bore kit. It bumps up the compression, and the displacement increases from 229cc to 249cc. It has so much more power now that we are starting to go beyond the limits of the stock clutch. Aftermarket EBC clutch is next. Next important is most definatly front suspension to compliment the extra power.

$329.95 For the kit. Kit includes high compression piston and a high ratio intake rocker arm (lets the intake valve open a little further like a cam). A local non-dealership shop installed it for about $260. We also went ahead a did a three angle valve grind on it while it was tore down for an extra $45. If this pic I scanned works, don't laugh at me single wide trailer!

hey this is a 250ex were talkin about, no offense, but i wouldnt dump a ton of money into a 250ex, if i was you id get front shocks,maybe some handguards , the only reason id buy a aftermarket axle is if you break yours again and really wanna keep a 250ex



id say, get works or elka econo shocks for the front
get some bars, handgrips, and handguards, and revalve and re spring the cr 80 rear shock so it will work good for the 250ex, if u can get that done and its off a newer cr that will prob work alot better, id get graphics and number backgrounds too


id say with those mods youll have a nice 250ex, but you gotta realize your not gonna get back what you put into it when u sell it, i wouldnt go with a arms o ranything like that because you dont need them on a 250ex, if you ride on some somewhat small jumps and xc style riding i think your setup would be fine but your gonna want more power once it handles good:cool:

Get suspension, a bumper for looks, shock covers so the new shocks dont get beat with mud and dirt, the Powroll Big Bore Kit (great investment), TAG bars if you dont already have a set of aftermarket ones.

I dumped $1,500 into mine only because Im gona be driven in a year and I really dont need another quad.

and some ppl cant afford to buy another new quad and have to dump money for mods into that either... i was in that predicament... now im in debt and broke.. and my job pays $6 an hr..... :confused2 :confused2
damn obsession with quads... cant help but love it... at least im in debt by a quad and not anything else :p :p

hey. i know what you are saying about sellin it and not putting money into it, but i cant sell it until the end of the summer because my parents bought it and we still owe some money on it. and as for not putting money into it. well one i am not the one dumping all the money into it. i only paid for the new front tires and kill switch that are on the way. and plus i dont mind my bike. i ride with 400ex's and z,s and just about every other bike so i get to ride them when i want a i can beat most of the kids i ride with anyways.

Why I dumped a bunch of money into the motor of my Wife's 250EX:

*There is about four other stock 250EX's in my neighborhood and I wanted to be the local champ.

*I love the smell of the 110 octane race gas that we must run in it now to accomidate the high compression piston.

*I think of our 250EX as a "novelty bike" Example: "What? you built the motor in a 250EX?" "Yes, I did"

*It is now a superior machine for extended wheelies. I took 2nd place in a wheelie contest last month at the Bonner Mountain poker run with our 250EX.

*I could have built my raptor, but it is already fast enough for what I like to do with it.
